Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally dies of covid-19 – ohamsgist/titleonly

Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally has died of coronavirus aged 81. The complications brought on by the disease killed him.

Terrence had died at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Florida, according to his representative.

The star suffered with chronic COPD and he had survived lung cancer. He was one of America’s greatest playwrights with a number of awards tied to his name and he enjoyed a flourishing career in theatre.

Terrence had scooped four Tony Awards in his high-flying career including for his work on Love! Valour! Compassion! and Master Class.

The late playwright left behind his heartbroken lawyer husband Tom Kirdahy, 57, and his brother Peter.
